Lois V. Smith, 83, Hobbies included golf, art, and bridge
Lois V. Smith (nee Hopkinson) age 83, of Westlake, formerly of North Olmsted, passed away, Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Bradley Bay Care Center, Bay Village, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Smith was born, July 8, 1919 in Lakewood, and has lived in Westlake the past 3 years.
Mrs. Smith worked as an administrator in the insurance industry. She attended Lake Erie College and supported West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. Her hobbies included golf, art, and bridge.
Her husband the late Charles J. Smith, Jr., whom she marred in 1940, passed away in 1957. She is survived by a daughter Barbara Margraff (Frank) of Avon Lake and a son Clifford C. Smith (Sarah Ann) of Beverly Shores, Indiana. Other survivors include three grandchildren; Ted Margraff, Adam (Carla) and Sarah Christine Smith. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a brother Harry L. Hopkinson and parents, Clifford W. and Isabel L. (nee Lowe) Hopkinson.
A memorial service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2003 in West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River. Rev. Midge Skwire of the church will officiate. Interment will be private in Lakewood Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake.
