Carol Lee Maurer, 52, Former Norwalk resident
Carol Lee Maurer (nee Bethard), age 52, of North Canton, died Sunday, March 9, 2003 in Heather Ridge Assisted Living Home in North Canton, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 14, 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a resident of Norwalk before moving to North Canton in November of 2001.She worked as the office manager for the Local 42 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Norwalk for 18 years and most recently as a secretary at Local 219 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Akron.
She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Queen Chapter # 15 in Norwalk and a member of the O.P.E.I.U. Local # 339. She graduated from the Christiana Senior High School in Christiana, Delaware.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lauren Tula of North Canton, and Shanon Heddleson of Duffy, two grandchildren, a sister Pat May of Amherst, and three brothers: Ross Bethard of Wakeman, Sidney Bethard of Springdale, Arkansas, and Charles Bethard of Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Lillian (nee Mattiston) Bethard.
Private family services will be on Thursday, March 13, 2003 from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio with the Reverend Gary A. Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in Birmingham Cemetery.
