Donald E. March, 71, Enjoyed archery, camping, and bingo

Donald E. March, 71, of Lorain, died on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at his residence while under the care of New Life Hospice of Lorain.

Born October 7, 1931 in Lorain, he lived here his entire life. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Comstock during the 1950's. He received the United Nations and Korean Service Medal.

He worked as a delivery truck driver for East Coast Express in Cleveland for 7 years, retiring in 1991. Prior to that, he worked as a truck driver for E & L Transport in Lorain, for 10 years, and had also worked at Lorain Works US Steel and Fruehauf Trailer Plant in Avon Lake.

He enjoyed archery, camping, and bingo.

He is survived by his sons: Fredrick, of Melbourne, Florida, Timothy of Amherst, Thomas of Coral Springs, Florida, Hal of Lorain, James of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Kenneth of Vermilion, daughters: Carol Goldthorpe of Herndon, Virginia, and Samantha March of Amherst, 10 grandchildren, and sister Lynda March of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (nee DiLuciano), in 1987, his parents, Edward March and Mary (nee Dorinski) March.

Private services for the family were held in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Graveside services will be Saturday, March 15, 2003 in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain at 9:00 am. Rev. Robert J. Dybo, Deacon of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain will officiate. The Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 will conduct full military honors.
