Linda A. Kacher, 59, Enjoyed flower gardening, water sports, and yardwork

Linda J. Kacher (nee McNulty), age 59, of Lorain, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic in Olmsted Township. She was born September 8, 1943 in Canonsburg, PA, and had been a resident of Lorain since childhood.

A graduate of the former Lorain High School, Mrs. Kacher was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain.

She was most recently employed as a teacher's aide at St. Anthony of Padua Parish School. She had previously served as a developmental aid with the Lorain City Schools. Mrs. Kacher was also previously employed as an estimator, and later manager, of Firelands Floors.

Mrs. Kacher had been active on the Board of Directors for the North Coast Building Industries Association (BIA). She was a charter member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). She was also a past board member of the Lorain YMCA.

She enjoyed flower gardening, water sports, and yardwork.

Survivors include daughters: Susan Edison of Worthington, OH and Becky Kacher of Seattle, WA; 3 grandchildren; mother: Margaret (nee Dezack) McNulty and brother: Mike McNulty, both of Fernandina Beach, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Kacher in 1980; daughter: Margaret "Meg" Kacher in 1985; and father: J.D. McNulty in 1995.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain where funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West O.F.M. Conv., pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
