Walton A. Myers Jr., 63, Served in U.S. Marine Corp, and C.B. enthusiast,
Walton A. Myers Jr., 63, of Lorain, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Ohio Extended Care Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.He was born May 6, 1939 in Lorain and was a lifetime resident. He was employed at the National Gypsum Co. in the quality control department for 22 years and retired in 1988.
Mr. Myers was a veteran serving the U.S. Marine Corp from 1956-1963 as a cook on many ships. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, and a Notary Public. He was an avid C. B. enthusiast and a member of the MinuteMan C.B. Club of Lorain, where he was past president and held many offices. His handle was "Notary." He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing pinochle.
He is survived by his daughters: Karen Myers of Wellington, Ohio, Dana Figueroa of Lorain, and Carrie Myers of Nitro, West Virginia, 8 grandchildren, and half sisters Katherine and Jaklyn. He was preceded in death by his parents Walton A. and Hazel (Bills) Myers Sr., and sister Beverly Bennett.
Friends may call on Friday, March 14, 2003 from 1-2 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst, Ohio. The Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 will conduct military honors.
