Jay Daniel Ward, 36, Enjoyed working on his jeep, around the house, and especially enjoyed his children
Jay Daniel Ward, age 36, of Berlin Heights, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 as a result of an accident.He was born on January 22, 1967 in Amherst, and has been an area resident for most of his life.
He served and trained as a combat engineer in the Army National Guard of Ohio for 8 years.
He was employed as a truck driver for Coles Energy Inc. in Milan for almost 3 years. He had also worked for Jonik & Co. Trucking in Lorain.
He enjoyed working on his jeep and around the house, and especially enjoyed his children.
He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Jean (nee Salva) Ward, his mother, Kathryn (nee Mills) of Berlin Heights, 3 sons, Louis Ward, Jeremy Ward and James Holland; a daughter, Leslie Holland, all at home. Other survivors include 4 brothers, Donald Ward, Jr. of Berlin Heights, Paul Ward of Berlin Heights, Delbert Ward of Wakeman, and Gary Ward of Willoughby, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Ward on November 14, 2002, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Sunday March 23, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday March 24, 2003 at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
