Marie A. Root, 93, Hobbies included crocheting, reading, and gardening

Marie A. Root (nee Micjan), age 93, of Lorain, and former long-time Cleveland resident, died Saturday march 22, 2003 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born March 25, 1909 in Daisytown, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain for the past seven years moving from Cleveland to reside with her daughter.

She was employed as an assembler for the Filter Queen Vacuum Cleaner Company in Cleveland; she retired in 1963 following 20 years of service with the company. A parishioner of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Cleveland, her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and gardening.

She is survived by her daughters; Mary Shuster and Frances Poprock both of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters: Leona Proscuitti and Anna Czarney both of Lorain, and a variety of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Root was preceded in death by husbands: Joseph Sedlak, Sr. and William Root, her son: Joseph Sedlak Jr., her parents John and Katherine (nee Rudinsky) Micjan, and by brothers: Joseph Mitchell and John Mitchell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2003 from 2 to 4 pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Private graveside services will be Wednesday in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorials in the form mass intentions be directed to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44055.
