Johnny White, 58, Avid boater and enjoyed playing raquetball
Johnny White, 58, of Olmsted Township passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born July 28, 1944 in Madison, West Virginia and moved to Olmsted Township thirty years ago.He served in the US Air Force from 1962-1966. Mr. White was employed as a Vice President and C.I.O. (Corporate Information Officer) at the corporate headquarters of Parker Hannifin Corp. Mayfield Heights. He was a member of Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville and the Severance Athletic Club. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed playing racquetball.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judith (nee Carter); two daughters, Jane L. Sarphie (John) of Corinth, Mississippi and Jill White of Olmsted Falls, two grandchildren, Colin Harriman and Nan Sarphie; his mother, Opal White (nee Pridemore) of Kodak, Tennessee, four sisters: Mary Hopkins (James) of Tennessee, Sue Cleary of Orwell, Ohio, Rose Wilson (Frank) of Huntsberg, Ohio and Tille Workman (Gary) of West Virginia, five brothers: Thomas (Phyllis) of Tennessee, Bob (Donna) of West Virginia, Paul (Marian) of Wisconsin, Lonnie (late Janet) of North Carolina and Charles of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom White (d. 1986) and sister in law Janet.
A memorial service will be held at Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Rd., North Ridgeville on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 11:00 am. Rev. Mike Gibson, pastor will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Memorials may be forwarded to the Ireland Cancer Center, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106, Attention Development Office, or the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
