Mary Botchick, 90, Enjoyed rose gardening, watching Cleveland Indians baseball, and her grandchildren

Mary Botchick (nee Kacur), 90, of Lorain, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin after a short illness. She was born October 10, 1912, in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Mrs. Botchick enjoyed rose gardening, watching Cleveland Indians baseball, hr grandchildren's activities and being around people.

She is survived by her daughters: Mrs. Dale (Maureen) Schieferstein of Amherst and Mrs. Michael (Rita) Welch of Miami, Florida, granddaughter Kathy Schieferstein of Lorain and grandsons: James Schieferstein of Amherst, Zachary Zoltai of Avon, Joshua Welch of Portsmouth, Virginia, Michael P. Welch Jr., of Miami, Florida, and Robert P. Welch of Miami, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband George Botchick on February 25, 1977 and two sisters and two brothers.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2003 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm with Clare McMillan, chaplain of Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin, officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Avon.
