Helen P. Marciniak, 94, Enjoyed Embroidery
Helen P. Marciniak (nee Pilawski), 94, of Lorain died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain.She was born January 24, 1909 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain-area resident.
Before she married, she worked at Radiant Hosiery Mills in Elyria Township.
Mrs. Marciniak was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, the church Altar & Rosary Society, AARP and the United Polish Club Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed handwork (embroidery), going on bus trips and rail trips, watching television and the Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by her daughter, Ursula Marciniak of Lorain; son, Gregory P. Marciniak of Elyria; 4 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Marciniak in 1981, parents Josef and Maryjanna Pilawski (nee Jaworska), sisters, Regina Lepkowski, Balbina Pilawski and Angela Pilawski, brother Leo Pilawski and three siblings in infancy.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. where the nativity Altar & Rosary Society will pray the rosary Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor, and the Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, parish deacon, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
