Mary Katica Katkic, 88
Mary Katica Katkic (nee Koler), age 88, of Lorain, died Friday March 28, 2003 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Katkic was born February 8, 1915 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.A parishioner of St. John Roman Catholic Church (Lorain), she was also a member of St. Theresa's Guild of St. Vitus Croatian Catholic Church as well as a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Croatian Club. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, and gardening.
Survivors include her sons: Joseph M. of Lorain and George M. of Orlando, Florida, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph in 1993, by a daughter: Patricia Sas in 1982, and by brothers: Alex, Daniel, George, Michael, Peter and Victor.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Thomas Smith, pastor of St. John Roman Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the Freedom Chapel of Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, Ohio.
