Richard R. Cervantes, age 64, of Lorain, died on Friday, March 28, 2003 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center, West, following a short illness.He was born on May 18, 1938 in Lorain; he was a lifelong Lorain resident and attended Clearview High School.
He was employed as a cook at Bradley Bay Health Center, Bay Village for the past 4 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lorain.
Richard enjoyed cooking, watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Carol (nee Hiesser), two sons: Richard A. Cervantes and Michael A. Cervantes, both of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, brothers: Ronald of Erin, TN and Manuel of Elyria, sister: Rita Orozco, of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael J. and Mary (nee Kuzniar) Cervantes, brothers: Daniel in 1994, Michael in 2001 and sister: Dolores Flores in 2000.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where there will be a Rosary Service by the Ladies Guild on Monday at 3:00 p.m. and the Christian Wake Service at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Liturgy of the Word at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
