Richard J. Meyers Jr., 76, Barber and Volunteer

He was born on November 3, 1926 in Cleveland and has lived in Lorain since 1947. He was formerly a barber in Lorain and worked at Lorain Products for 24 years, retiring 1988.

Following his retirement, he volunteered at area nursing homes, providing Bible studies and gospel music for the residents.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Sarah (nee Skaggs) Meyers of Lorain, a brother, Russell W. Meyers of Clearwater, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. Sr., and Helen (nee Savina) Meyers.

Friends may call Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain where services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Chris Hughes, pastor of Tower Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
