Edith Marie Meyer, 79, Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Grafton VFW.
Edith Marie Meyer (nee Foreid), age 79, of Grafton passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003 in Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland after a short illness. She was born Wednesday October 10, 1923 in Cleveland, living most of her life in Grafton Township.She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Alter & Rosary Society. Mrs. Meyer is a 1941 graduate of Belden high School, and had owned a Sohio Station and grocery store for 10 years on the corner of Grafton Eastern & St Rt. 83. She was formerly employed by Western Reserve Packing in Berea for 26 yrs. and formerly employed by the Midview School system in the Cafeteria. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Grafton VFW. Mrs. Meyer enjoyed working in the outdoors.
She is survived by five sons Michael, Dennis, John and James Meyer all of Grafton, Ohio, Robert Kauffeld of Frankfort, Kentucky, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband Clarence (Mike) Meyer in 1994, and by her first husband Herbert Kauffeld in 1946, sons William Kauffeld and David Meyer, and three brothers.
Friends may call in the Blackburn Funeral Home, 1021 Main St. Grafton, Tuesday, April 8, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. Robert Vieweg pastor of Immaculate Conception Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton.
