Edward S. Koziol, 84, Mr. Koziol's interests included lake fishing and gardening

Edward S. Koziol, age 84, of Lorain, died at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an illness of several months. (For reason unbeknownst to us, the family does not want the day or date of death to be published) He was born March 6, 1919 in Lorain, Ohio and had been a lifelong resident of the city.

A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain, he was employed as a heater at US Steel's Lorain Works, retiring in 1981 after 43 years of service with the company. He formerly was a member of United Steelworkers' Local #1104.

Mr. Koziol's interests included lake fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his son Thomas of Lorain, and sister Stella Holp also f Lorain. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (nee Bakor) in 1984, a son Fr. Loren Koziol, O.F.M. Conv. In 1988, parents Stanislaus and Mary (nee Janowski) Koziol, and sister Helen Lechowicz in 1997.

Visitation will be Monday, April 7, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday beginning at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel and will be followed by his funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Joseph West, O.F.M. Conv., pastor of St. Anthony will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in his name to either St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain, Ohio, 44052 or to Mount St. Francis, Mount St. Francis, IN 47146.
