Allan B. Angney, 74, Enjoyed hunting, boating and his friends

Allan B. Angney, 74, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 14, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a lengthy illness.

He was born October 7, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA, and has been a Vermilion resident since 1951.

He worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Erie County retiring in 1992. He also owned and operated the Mobile Gas Station in Vermilion for many years. He was a member of the Ely Masonic Lodge #424, Vermilion, the Vermilion Fish and Game, and the Vermilion Investment Club. He enjoyed hunting, boating and his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby Angney (nee Thacker) to whom he was married 3 years; son, Glen Angney of South Amherst, OH; daughter, Brenda Popke of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 2 step daughters, Kim Weglicki of New Port Richey, FL and Lisa Scotch of Browndale, PA; and 11 step grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Norman and Mary (nee WeHaven) Angney; a sons, Alex Angney; and a sister Susie Angney.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5245 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 11 a.m., with Reverend Rod Hollen, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Mapel Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
