Rose A. Knezetic, 95, Avid Card Player
Rose A. Knezetic, (nee Udovich), 95, of Lorain, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain following a lengthy illness.Born September 30, 1907 in Lorain, she lived in Lorain her entire life until moving to Amherst to live with her daughter in 1995 for 3 � years and graduated from Lorain Business College.
During World War II, she operated a punch press in a tank factory in Cleveland. She worked as a seamstress at Weitz and Co., Lorain and Richman Brothers in Cleveland, for many years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lorain, Slovenian American Club, Mothers Club, American Slovenian Catholic Union KSKJ.
She enjoyed spending the winter months in Ocala, Florida and making many crafts. She also enjoyed macramé and crocheting. Rose was an avid card player, especially playing bridge, and had earned the Senior Master Title by the American Contract Bridge League at one time. Rose also liked to play golf and was a member of the "Willow Wackers" at Willow Creek Golf Course.
Surviving is her son, Paul Wencko, of Golden, CO, daughter, Susan Rumpler, of Amherst, 4 grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Udovich, of Lorain and a sister, Anne Bobrowski, of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig Udovich, Frank Udovich, Luke Udovic, John Udovich, Vincent Udovich, and Andrew Udovich, a sister Vera Mauer.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. David Novak, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
