Grace M. Nayper, 85, Accomplished Baker
Grace M. Nayper (nee Dohanyos), age 85, of Lorain, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following an illness of several months.She was born March 31, 1918 in Lorain, and had been a Lorain resident for her entire life.
Mrs. Nayper attended Lorain High School; she was an active member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain where she was a member of the Busy Martha Guild, and the Hungarian Sick Benefit Society.
She was an accomplished baker and was especially gifted with pastry. Additional interests included quilting and flower gardening with a special focus directed toward roses.
She is survived by a son: Wayne residing in Raven, Virginia, daughters: Grave Asik of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Nancy Woodin of Elyria, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother: Albert Dohanyos of Lorain, and sister: Helen Lengel of Elyria and Ethel Bickley of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis in 1993, by a son: Dennis in 1941, parents Frank and Helen (nee Kiss) Dohanyos, and by a brother: Frank Dohanos in 1983.
Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2003 from 2-4 an d7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, 1691 East 31st Street, Lorain. The Reverend Zoltan Kelemen, pastor of West Side Hungarian Reformed Church in Cleveland will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, 1691 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
