Ann Sylvester Mienke, 68, Avid collector of children's toys, dolls, and movies
Ann Sylvester Mienke, a long-time resident of Vermilion, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Rae-Ann Suburban Nursing Home in Westlake. She was 68.She was born on June 6, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee where she lived until moving to Vermilion in 1958. She was a 1952 graduate of Whitehaven High School, Memphis and was employed as a police dispatcher for the Amherst Police Department for over 25 years, retiring in 1985.
Dedicated to the lives of her children and grandchildren, she maintained a family first philosophy for living. She was an avid collector, especially of children's toys, dolls, and movies.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sciarini of Solon, Ohio and Linda Brandt of Port Orange, Florida; a son, Jerry Mienke of Vermilion, Ohio; grandchildren, Jayson, Matthew, Nick, Abbey and Richie; and a Brother, Henry Sylvester of Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James Lawrence Pleasants and 2nd husband, Richard Mienke and parents, Henry and Oberia (nee Tate) Sylvester.
Friends may call Saturday, April, 19, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Guy Morton, pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee on Monday, April 21, 2003.
