Frank Duray, 86, Owner of Duray Machine, enjoyed "inventing things" and gardening

Frank Duray, age 86, of Lorain, died on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion, following a lengthy illness. Frank was born on March 17, 1917 in Johnstown, PA, and came to Lorain as a child and has lived here since.

He was the owner/operator of Duray Machine, Lorain from 1959 until his retirement in 1993. Prior to this he worked as the general foreman of White Roth, Lorain.

He was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Lorain. Frank enjoyed "inventing things" and gardening.

He is survived by his sons: Robert Duray, of Bradington, Florida and Wayne Duray, of Lorain, daughters: Arlene Sklarek, of Vermilion, Janet Dadas, of Lorain, Marcia Shoulter, of Wakeman, and Nancy Duray, of Lakewood, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, sisters: Katie Kuzniar, Amelia Cassidy, Julia Bomback and Erma Reed, all of Lorain.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years: Mary (nee Detz) in 1999, parents John and Kathryn (nee Lindaj) Duray, brother John and sisters: Mary, Ann, and Margaret.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 from 5-9 PM in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM mass at Nativity BVM Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John Kline, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
