Betty J. Walters, 71, Received double degree in Accounting from Lorain Business College, member of Victory Baptist Temple
Betty J. Walters, age 71, of Lorain, died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness. She was born December 25, 1931 in Roanoke, Virginia and had been a resident of Lorain since 1960 coming from Maryland.Mrs. Walters attended the Jane Adams Finishing School in Cleveland, she went on to attend the Lorain Business College where she received a double degree in Accounting. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Lorain Palace Civic Center for six years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Temple in Elyria.
She is survived by daughters: Paula Alexander of North Ridgeville, and Cheryl McElroy of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, sons: Paul Walters and Daniel Walters of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and by sisters: Barbara Harnded of Alexandria, Virginia and Belva Naskoviak of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Chris Markos and her mother Joann Saunders.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2003 from 6-9 PM in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Road in Avon. The Reverend Jeffrey Smale, pastor of Victory Baptist Temple will officiate.
