Edith L. Csavina, 87, Enjoyed playing the piano, cards, doing crosswords, and reading the Bible
Edith L. Csavina (nee Shepherd), 87, of Lorain, died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at her home after a sudden illness.She was born June 12, 1915 in Elyria and had resided in Lorain for the past 60 years. She was a 1934 graduate of Elyria High School.
Before she had her family, Mrs. Csavina worked as a secretary at General Industries in Elyria.
She was a member of the Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church in Lorain and the Women's Club of the church.
She enjoyed playing the piano, especially spiritual hymns, and playing cards, crossword puzzles, and reading the Bible.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Frank Csavina of Lorain, son Frank Csavina of Bellbrook, Ohio, daughters: Beverley Csavina and Donna Williams, both of Lorain, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sister Florence Ingersoll of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Eola (nee Jones) Shepherd, sister Ruth Shepherd and brother Russell Shepherd.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 24, 2003 from 6-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dennis Henkle, pastor of Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
