Elizabeth S. Turner, 77, Involved with Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and enjoyed antiquing.
Elizabeth S. Turner (nee Seitz) age 77, of Avon Lake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Lakewood Hospital, following a one-year illness. Mrs. Turner was born, November 2, 1925 in Scranton, PA. She had lived in Avon Lake since 1955.She was a graduate of Central High School, Scranton, PA. She then attended Keystone College in Factoryville, PA, and then Empire Beauty College in Scranton, PA. She worked as a buyer in the china department at the Globe Store, Scranton; she then owned a beauty shop with her aunt in Scranton. Upon moving to Cleveland, Mrs. Turner worked in the office of Ohio Bell.
Mrs. Turner was involved with her children's activities including serving as Brownie Leader, Girl Scout Consultant, and Cub Scout Den Mother. She enjoyed antiquing and frequenting garage sales.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband of 53 years, Eldon G. Turner whom she married September 17, 1949. Other survivors include a daughter, Janet St. George (David) of Avon Lake, son Harry Turner of Avon Lake, (his partner Kris Sutfin and her children Heather, Catherine, and Rachel). She is also survived by a sister Janet Backo of Scranton, PA. Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Janet (nee Skeoch) Seitz.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Monday, April 28, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral service will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Thomas C. Robinson of Avon Lake Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Garden.
