Marion L. Aufdenkampe Lembke, 71, Retired from LNB in 1994, volunteered at Free Clinic

Marion L. Aufdenkampe Lembke (nee McGee), 71 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Friday, April 25, 2003 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain.

She was born May 22, 1931 in Cleveland where she was raised and graduated from West Technical High School in the class of 1949. She made her home in Brownhelm Township for 30 years.

While in high school she competed at State competitions as a soprano soloist and received superior marks. After raising her children, she was employed by Lorain National Bank for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Lembke was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Amherst where she was a soprano soloist and choir member for more than 40 years. She also served with the Boards of Evangelism and Member Relations. For nearly ten years, she and her late husband, Robert Aufdenkampe, were Youth Counselors. She was also a volunteer at the Lorain County Free Clinic and enjoyed traveling and being surrounded by her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons Bruce Aufdenkampe of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Gary Aufdenkampe of Vermilion, her daughter Cathi Aufdenkampe of Vermilion, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Robert H. Aufdenkampe, by her second husband of three years, George Lembke, her parents Frederick and Almira McGee (nee Helms), and by hers sisters Gladys Breudigam and Geraldine Unland.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 29, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 1:30 PM from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 115 Central Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Gary D. Bernath, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 115 Central Dr., Amherst, Ohio, 44001.
