Anita Ortiz, 49, Administartive Secretary

She was born August 10, 1953, in Lorain.

She graduated from Southview High School in 1971 She attended business classes at Lorain County Community College, Elyria.

Mrs. Ortiz was employed at Lorain Southview High School as the Administrative Secretary for 18 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain. Where she was a Eucharistic minister, a Catechist for First Communion and made the first couples Cursillo. She was also involved in the Sacred Heart Chapel Youth Ministry, Senior Banquet Committee, Garden Club, Education Commission, Southview High School Prom-to-dawn and was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed inspirational music, dancing, and serving others.

Survivors include her spouse of 29 years, Alfred T. Ortiz; daughters Jennifer, Adrianna Ortiz both of Columbus, Ohio and Allison Ortiz of Lorain; sons Andrew and Matthew Ortiz both at home; a granddaughter; parents Juan E. and Ana (nee Silva) Santos; sister Wilma Ocasio (nee Santos); brothers John Jr., James, Manuel, Eduardo and Richard Santos all of Lorain and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents Manuel Silva and Sara Santos; paternal grandparents Jesus Santos and Inocenzia Gonzalez; and brother Jessie Santos.

Friends may call Thursday, May 1, 2003 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue in Lorain 44055. Friends may also call Friday from 9 a. m. until 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel. The Rev. William A. Thaden will officiate.
