Frank J. Rudik, 71, Korean War Veteran, named Sheffield Lake Man of the Year for 2003
Frank J. Rudik, age 71, of Sheffield Lake, passed away, Saturday, April 26, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following complications from a heart attack. Mr. Rudik was born, February 28, 1932 in Uniontown, PA and has lived in Sheffield Lake since 1966.He worked various jobs including as a steelworker; television repairman and most recently owned Lakeside Bait in Lorain. He retired in 1992. He was a Korean War Veteran.
Mr. Rudik was an active member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield Lake and was head of the Kitchen Committee at the church. He was named Sheffield Lake Man of the Year for 2003. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, worked with the USDA Food Distribution Program and was an avid fisherman.
Besides his wife Shirley (nee Bulger) whom he married, May 9, 1965, Mr. Rudik is survived by sons, Rick Fantauzzi (Linda) of Sheffield Lake, Randy Fantauzzi of Avon Lake, daughter Tammy McIlwaine (Brian) of Elyria, 8 grandchildren, Gene, Robby, Nichole, David, Monica, Andrea, Cody, and Chase, 13 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, and a sister. He is preceded in death by a son, Terry Fantauzzi and his parents, Frank and Mary (nee Keckich) Rudik.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Tuesday, April 29, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 AM. Pastor Greg Vardell of First Baptist Church, Sheffield Lake will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
