Irene M. Erdei, 79, Lifelong Lorain Resident

Mrs. Erdei was born on March 21, 1924 in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident of Lorain. She had attended Clearview Schools and them graduated in 1942 from Lorain High School. She had been a bookkeeper in various positions in Lorain, retiring in 1992. She was very active in the Lorain Senior Center, where she had been a board member and had served as treasurer.

She is survived by one son, David Erdei of Lorain; three daughters, Dana Flenner of Twinsburg, Ohio, Robin McCarthy of Tamarac, Florida and Jean Gregory of Corona, California. Other survivors include six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and one brother, Arthur Jabbusch of Snowhill, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Erdei in 1971; parents, Ewald Jabbusch in 1974 and Helen (Resko) Jabbusch in 1971; one brother, Harry Jabbusch in 1977.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
