Gerald Eugene Snow, 80, U.S. Navy Veteran, worked for U.S. Postal service, and substitute teacher in Lorain and Elyria

Mr. Snow was a graduate of Lorain High School with the class of 1940-B. He later received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.
Mr. Snow was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in the Aleutian Island during World War II. In 1948 he received a commission as ensign.
He was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service working out the central Lorain Post Office. Following his retirement, he was employed as a substitute teacher for both the Lorain City and Elyria City School Systems in grades seven through twelve.
A member of Faith United Methodist Church in Lorain, he served there as both a trustee and usher. He was also a 33 year member of Stonington Lodge # 503 F. & A.M., of Amherst, Queen City Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, as well as American Legion Post # 30 of Lorain and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
He is survived by sons: Gerald Evan Snow of Houston, Texas, and Keith Earl Snow of Troy, Ohio, and a brother Kenneth E. Snow of Bath Township.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy B. Snow (nee Holloway) in 2001 and by his parents Guy and Ina (nee Yost) Snow.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Masonic services will be conducted by members of Stonington Lodge # 503 at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Darlene Robinson, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery where members and officers of American Legion Post # 30 will conduct military honors.
The family suggests memorials in Mr. Snow's memory to either Faith United Methodist Church, 2201 Reid Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052, or to the New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
