Vera Griffiths, 84, Enjoyed knitting, ballroom dancing and baseball
Vera Griffiths (nee Raybould) - 84, of Avon Lake passed away, Monday, April 28 at St. John and West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a recent illness. She was born November 29, 1918 in County of Wolverhampton, England and immigrated to Lakewood in 1951. She moved to Avon Lake in 1956. She was employed as a housekeeper at the Aquamarine Resort in Avon Lake and enjoyed knitting, ballroom dancing and baseball.Mrs. Griffths is survived by a daughter, Maureen Logan (Jim) of Avon Lake; two sons, Colin (Sandy) and Kenneth (Gail) both of Avon Lake; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (1993); a son, William (2001); her parents, Edward and Ann (nee Jones) Raybould and two sister and a brother.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday May 2 at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Mr. James Stewart; a deacon at St. James Catholic Church, Lakewood will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
