Aida Laureano Flores, 79, Enjoyed carpentry and loved animals

Aida Laureano Flores, 79, of Lorain, died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital, West, following a lengthy illness.

Born June 20, 1923 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, she lived in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico before coming to Lorain 5 years ago.

While living in Puerto Rico, she worked in a school cafeteria for 5 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera, Lorain.

She enjoyed carpentry and loved animals.

Surviving is her son, Carlos Roberto Amill, of Levittown, Puerto Rico, daughters, Carmen Amill, and Sonia Amill, both of Lorain, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a sister, Bienvenida Laureano, of New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Laureano and Isaias Flores, brothers, Gabriel, Benanzeo, a sister, Elena and grandson: Omar Torres-Amill in 1994.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m. and also on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera, 1930 Broadway Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2003 at 12:00 noon. Rev. Miguel Serrano, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
