Bernice N. Goodwin, 92, Enjoyed crocheting, boating, and playing cards
Bernice N. Goodwin (nee Unthank), age 92, of Avon Lake, passed away Friday, May 9, 2003 at Bradley Bay Health Center following a short illness. Mrs. Goodwin was born, September 16, 1910 in Richmond, IN and had been a long time area resident, living in Avon Lake since 1955.Mrs. Goodwin was a homemaker and a 1928 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. She was an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Avon Lake and Past President of the Lake Shore Women's Club, Avon Lake. She enjoyed crocheting, boating and playing cards.
Her husband James L. Goodwin, whom she married August 31, 195, passed away, April 1, 1988. She is survived by her son James P. Goodwin (Helen) and daughter Linda Ehle (Herb) both of Avon Lake. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren: James, Mark and Craig Goodwin, and Paul Miller and Patricia Ritter, 11 great grandchildren: James P., Aubrey, Tyler, Kara, Craig, Kyle, Rylie, Tucker, Connor, Derek, and Ryan. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, George and Marjorie (nee Rich) Unthank.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake, Monday, May 12 from 7:00-9:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the Service at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 13. Pastor Eileen Woyen of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakewood Park Cemetery.
