Edna S. Risdon, 86, Active in the Mission Circle for 40 years, loved to cook and bake

Edna S. Risdon (nee Delfing), 86 years of age, of Vermilion, died Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born July 12, 1916 in Lorain, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident since 1964, moving from Amherst.

She had worked at Nordson, Amherst during World War II.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion where she had been active in the Altar and Rosary society. She was involved in the Mission Circle for over 40 years. Mrs. Risdon was a member of the Aural Club, Vermilion Grange #2171, and Pamona Grange. She loved to cook and bake.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Glenn F. Risdon, 3 stepdaughters: Mrs. Richard (Jean) Bauer of Sandusky, Ohio, Mrs. James (Lucille) Blake of Vermilion, Ohio, and Mrs. William (Alice) Stuckey of Milan, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, half brothers Donald Anthony of Amherst, Ohio and Clifford Anthony of Amherst, Ohio.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jacob and Elizabeth (nee Fuhrman) Delfing, foster daughter Karen Adams in 2001, brother Raymond Delfing in 1937 and twin brother Edmund Delfing in 1956, a half brother Gerald Anthony in 1996 and a granddaughter Sheryl Bauer in 1990.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 13, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where the Alter and Rosary Society will conduct the rosary at 3:30 PM. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at 11:00 AM, followed by a 11:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, with the Rev. Father Steve Blum officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
