Wilma Stone, 92, Accomplished seamstress, enjoyed canning, square dancing, and being with family

She was formerly employed as an assembler in Department # 17 of General Motor's Fisher Guide Division in Elyria.
Mrs. Stone was an active member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain where she was a past member of the church choir, the Busy Martha's Guild, and the ladies kitchen auxiliary. She also paid home visits to shut-ins on behalf of the church.
She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society, as well as the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society Federal Credit Union.
She was a member, room mother, and former president of the Lincoln Elementary School PTA (Lorain) and was also a member of Whittier School PTA.
Mrs. Stone was an accomplished seamstress who designed and crafted many of the outfits that she and her late husband wore in round and square dance competition throughout Ohio. Additional interests included gardening, canning and preserving produce that she cultivated, and making all types of jelly and jams. She also enjoyed the company of her family.
Survivors include her daughter: Jeannine "Jean" Rock of Lorain, sons: Larry M. Fogel of Seymour, Tennessee, Gerald "Jerry" Fogel of Summerfield, Florida, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brothers James Sallay of Elyria and Louis Sallay of Saratoga, Arkansas, and sisters Irene Smith of Lorain and Betty Miles of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Stone in 1995, her brother Joseph Sallay and her sister Sophie Rieth.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ 1691, East 31st Street Lorain. The Reverend Zoltan Kelemen, pastor of West Side Hungarian Reformed Church of Cleveland will officiate. Private burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
