John H. "Andy" Anderson, 71, Served in US Navy, avid Cleveland Sports fan and enjoyed golf
John H. "Andy" Anderson, age 71, of Avon Lake, passed away Friday, May 16, 2003 in New Orleans, LA following a lengthy illness. He was visiting his son there. Andy was born April 14, 1932 in Avon Lake and lived in Avon Lake most of his life.He was a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired after 31 years of service as the vice president and area manager for I.B.M. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and the American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake. He was an avid Cleveland Sports fan and enjoyed golfing.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, John E. Anderson of New Orleans, LA, and daughter Lisa Ann Noblet (Bob) of Avon Lake, two grandchildren, his Aunt Betty Haynal of Avon Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce (nee Burgess) in 1994 and his parents, John and Lucille (nee Crawford) Anderson.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home, Thursday, May 22 at 11:30 AM. Rev. John R. Butchko, pastor of Avon United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorials may be forwarded to the American Heart Association of Northeast, Ohio 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
