Mary Irene Welter, 86, Enjoyed playing cards, doing crosswords, and traveling
Mary Irene Welter, age 86, of Lorain, passed away Monday, May 19, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital West following a lengthy illness. She was born June 14, 1916 in Lorain, Ohio and has been a lifelong resident.Mary was employed as an insurance administrator for Thew Shovel in Lorain for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Lorain. She was also a member of the AARP #399. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling.
She is survived by her sister Norma Welter of Lorain, brother Richard J. Welter of Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Margaret (nee Knepper) Welter, and brother William E. Welter.
Friends may visit Wednesday, May 21, 2003 from 10:00 AM until time of prayers at 11:00 AM at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain, Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Church in Lorain with Father Daniel Divis officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, in Lorain.
The family suggests memorials in her name go to the favorite charity of the donor's choice.
