Ramon A. Ortiz, 76, Member of St. Vitus Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening

He was born on Coamo, Puerto Rico. He has lived in this area since 1964.

Mr. Ortiz was employed as a painter for the former Fruehauf for many years. He was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church, Lorain. He enjoyed gardening.

Ramon is survived by his sons; Ramon A. Ortiz Jr., of Lorain, Hector L. Ortiz of Hong Kong, Reynaldo "Nandy" of Cleveland, Ramon "Luck" Ortiz of Lorain, Ricardo Ortiz of Hampton, VA, and daughter Elba Cordova of Lorain, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Francisca (nee Cancel) Ortiz, two brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where a Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM mass at St. Vitus Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Simon Nekic, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
