Corinne F. (nee France) Dolbear Young, 101 years of age, of Lorain died on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, Ohio following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Dolbear Young was born on July 24, 1901, in Midvale, Ohio.She received a B.A from Western Reserve College For Women in 1924. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, now known as Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
She taught school in the Midvale School system. She also worked as a social worker for Lorain County. She and her first husband owned and operated Dolbear's Grocery at 9th and Brownell Streets. She was also a member of the Quota Club and the A. A.U.W. She was a member of the Audubon Society and supported the Orphans of The World.
Mrs. Dolbear Young is survived by her stepdaughter, Dorothy Urban of California, and her stepson, Philip A. Young Jr. of Lorain and a niece Elizabeth D. Busch of Melbourne, Florida. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin J. Dolbear, her second husband Philip A. Young, Sr., parents Dr. Simon and Delphine (nee Stuckey) France, and her sister, Pauline M. Whitney.
Graveside services will be held on May 30, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst, Ohio. The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio handled arrangements.
