William C. "Bill" Peters, 68, Enjoyed being with his grandchildren, auto racing, and working on cars
William C. "Bill" Peters, age 68, of Vermilion, died Friday, May 30, 2003 at Community Health Partners in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 28, 1935 in Lorain and has been an area resident all of his life.He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a mechanic and tow truck driver for L & M Towing Company in Vermilion for over 30 years, retiring 3 years ago. He was a member of Amvets Post 22 and American Legion Post 397, both in Vermilion. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, auto racing, and working on cars.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Peters of Lorain, sons Jason of Ft. Braggs, North Carolina, Joel of Vermilion, Jeremy and Joshua of Lorain, 7 grandchildren, sister Sally Vagrosky of Amherst, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents William Ellsworth and Dorothy Caroline (nee Berry) Peters and brother, Richard Peters.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Dave Straub of Sonshine Baptist Church in Lorain will officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
