Rafael A. Badillo, 58, Enjoyed music, fishing and horseback riding

Rafael A. Badillo, age 58, of Miami, Florida, formerly of Lorain, died on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Franco Nursing Home, Miami, Florida, following a lengthy illness.

Born on October 21, 1944 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He lived in Bronx, NY from 1947 until moving to Lorain in 1971. In 1977 he moved to Miami, Florida.

He was employed as a Lithographer for 3 years for the Walt Disney Corp., in Miami. Prior to this trade he was an offset printer in New York City, Lorain and Florida.

He enjoyed music, fishing and horseback riding.

He is survived by his son: Lenny Santiago, of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, brother: Jesus Badillo, of Miami, sisters: Lourdes Badillo, of Wassaic, NY, Nilda Lucas, of Melville, NY, Carmin Badillo, of Smithtown, NY, Gladys Badillo, of Brentwood, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Nicanor and Luisa (nee Rosario) Badillo, son: Adam F. Badillo, in 1995, brothers: Richard Badillo, in 1996 and Enrique Badillo.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
