Margaret "Peggy" Irene Williams, 79, Enjoyed, bowling, playing Pinochle and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren
Margaret "Peggy" Irene Williams (nee Coultas), age 79, of Avon Lake, formerly of Lakewood and East Cleveland, passed away, Friday, June 6, 2003 at Rae Ann Suburban Care center following an extended illness.Mrs. Williams was born, August 8, 1923 in Cleveland and had lived in Avon Lake since 1955.
She had worked for the offices of Ohio bell, Columbia Gas and American Greetings before going to work in the cafeteria of Avon Lake High School where she worked for over 20 years. She was a graduate of John Adams High School, Cleveland and attended Fenn College.
Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Joseph Church and found great comfort in praying the Rosary. She enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, namely Pinochle, and flower gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting and had made blankets for each of her grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 sons: Richard C. Williams (Janet) of Dothan, AL, George T. Williams (Dianne) of Bay Village, Charles J. Williams (Helen) of Avon Lake and daughter, Kathleen M. Asturias (Luis) of Chesapeake, VA. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren: Rick, David, Brennan, Terrance, Mary, Aileen, Evan, Matthew, Amanda, Megan, Erin, Tim, Michael, and Eric, and a sister Pat Hostler of Coshocton, OH. Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Williams who she married, November 28, 1946 and passed away June 9th, 1989. She is also preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret (nee Brennan) Coultas, a brother George Coultas and sisters Alice Pitts and Betty Gang.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2003. Prayer service will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, June 10, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd, Avon Lake at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Timothy J. O'Connor of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden. Memorials may be forwarded to the Alzheimer's Association 12200 Fairhill Rd., Cleveland, Ohio 44120.
