Kathryn M. "Kate" Dusa, 88, Had part in founding the Murray Ridge Center School and Workshop
Kathryn M. "Kate" Dusa (nee Kovacevich), 88, of Lorain died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a brief illness.She was born September 1, 1914 in Lorain. She was a life long resident of Lorain. Mrs. Dusa retired from St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain in 1977 as a Nursing Assistant. She worked there for over 30 years in labor and delivery.
She was a member of Saint Vitus Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a member of Saint Theresa's Guild and the Croatian Lodge 136 both of Lorain.
Mrs. Dusa was a volunteer for the Lorain County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. She was one the original mothers involved with founding Murray Ridge Center School and Workshop, in Elyria.
Among the survivors are her daughters Kathleen M. Pudelski of North Olmsted and Christine E. Dusa of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; a sister Helen Pozega of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Rudy in 1978; her parents Peter and Catherine (nee Canjar) Kovacevich; brothers Peter and John Kovacevich, sisters Ann Ribaric, Mary Pavlich and Betty Jankowski.
Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. A Parish Rosary will be recited Friday afternoon at 3:30 PM.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Reverend Simon Nekic, Pastor of St. Vitus Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
