Gregory Allen Mitro, 53, Enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crafts

Gregory Allen Mitro, 53, of Lorain, died Friday, June 20, 2003 at his residence following a brief illness. Born November 9, 1949 in Lorain, he has lived in Lorain his entire life.

He was a 1967 graduate of Admiral King High School.

He was employed at Convenient on E. 42nd St. Lorain, where he worked in the deli department. Prior to this he worked at Ohio Sanitary Supply, Elyria, for 18 years, Dovin Funeral Home, Lorain as an evening attendant for 10 years, Januzzi Shoes, Lorain, Big Boy Restaurant, Amherst, and Campbell's Buffet in Lorain.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, and the Greek Catholic Union Lodge No. 77.

He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crafts.

Surviving is his sister, Gail Mitro of Lorain, his aunts, Elizabeth Graziano, and Marylouise Lesiecki, both of Lorain. He is also survived by many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Mitro, in 1975, his mother Gertrude (nee Gailey) Mitro, on March 16, 2003.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. James Batcha, pastor of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
