Michael Kmetz, 89, Worked in construction and carpentry
Michael Kmetz, 89 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away, Sunday morning June 22, 2003 at Oak Hills Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.Born September 2, 1913 in Lorain he has been a resident of Amherst for the past forty-six years.
Michael was a member of Saint Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. He worked for many years in construction as a carpenter.
Survivors include his stepson, Paul S. Perkins of Lorain, stepdaughters Gerrie Graham of Wellington, Ohio, and Carol Klingelsmith of Florida, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-three years, Josephine E. Kmetz (nee Haserodt) as well as by many brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Crownhill Cemetery.
Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
