Nick Hodrosky, 79, WW II Veteran, enjoyed golfing, bowling, and gardening

Photo of Nick Hodrosky Nick Hodrosky, 79, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a one-year illness.

He was born March 11, 1924 in Library, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain most of his life.

Mr. Hodrosky served with the US Navy during World War II as a fireman first class. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

He worked for Pete DeSantis Distributing in Lorain as a driver for over 24 years retiring in 1990.

Mr. Hodrosky was a member of St. Mary-of-the-Lake Catholic Church in Lorain. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Frances J. (nee Muniga), sons Richard A. Hodrosky of Wakeman, and Nicholas J. Hodrosky of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Kathleen A. Hull of Cleveland, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Marie Hodrosky, parents Michael and Anna Hodrosky and sister Frances Czapp.

Friends may call Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary-of-the-Lake Catholic Church, 310 8th St., Lorain. The Rev. Daniel Divis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain where the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
