Gerald W. Gavron, 52, Cadillac car enthusiast, enjoyed flying on airplanes

Gerald W. Gavron, 52, of Westlake passed away Saturday July 5, 2003 at St. John & West Shore Hospital, Westlake, following a sudden illness. He was born May 23, 1951 in Cleveland.

He was a resident at the Center Ridge House and Group Home, Westlake for the past fifteen years coming from Bay Village. He was a laborer at the Brooklyn Workshop of the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation. Gerald was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Bay Village; Royal Arcanum, Catholic Sokols, and First Catholic Ladies Slovak Association, and was a Boy Scout at the Center Ridge House, Westlake. He was a Cadillac car enthusiast and liked flying on airplanes. He enjoyed life, was friendly and outgoing and liked to flirt with waitresses and nurses.

Mr. Gavron is survived by his mother Frances C. (nee Nocjar) of Westlake, a brother Charles J. of Nashville, Tennessee, three sisters, Frances Marie Hammerly of Wadsworth, Sandra Jean Sholl of Garrett, Indiana and Maureen J. DeRenzo of Findley, Ohio and six nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. (1995) and a sister, Barbara Ann Gavron.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003. Prayer Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 9:45 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 525 Dover Center Road, Bay Village at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Craig Hovanec, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
