Glenn V. Wood, 72, Enjoyed bow and rifle hunting in Pennsylvania and Montana and fishing
Glenn V. Wood, 72 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain.He was born August 20, 1930 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania where he was raised. He was a resident of Lorain for 19 years before moving to Vermilion 27 years ago.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Glenn was employed by the Lorain Plant of Ford Motor Corp. for 35 years retiring in 1993 as a maintenance welder. He was a member of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain where he was instrumental in the building of the church and the Camp Blessing facility on East River Rd. in Lorain. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers and enjoyed bow and rifle hunting in Pennsylvania and Montana and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years Bonnie Lea (nee Moore) Wood; his sins, Donald P. Wood of Columbus and Kurtis T. Wood of Lorain; his daughter Pamela B. Forbus of Vermilion; his step mother Naomi Wood of Pennsylvania; many grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his brother Raply Wood of Brownsville, Pennsylvania; his half-brother Robert Wood of Texas, and Lonnie Wood of Pennsylvania; his sister Libbie Cox of Pennsylvania; his half sister Nancy Falsack of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles V. and Effie (nee Iams) Wood; by his brother Clyde Wood and by his sister Evelyn Wood and Dorothy Cox.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from Broadway Assembly Church; 5495 Broadway, Lorain with the Rev. Mark Lantz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.
