Earl K. "Whitey" Moore Sr., 75, Served in the US Army, enjoyed auto racing, and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren
Earl K. "Whitey" Moore, Sr., age 75, of Lorain, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at his home after a brief illness.He was born May 3, 1928 in Avon Lake and had resided in the Lorain and Sheffield Lake areas all of his life.
Mr. Moore served with the US Army from 1946-1947 as a private in the 463rd Army Air Forces Base Unit.
He worked at the Lake Terminal Railroad retiring in 1971.
Mr. Moore was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Lorain. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto racing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons: Earl K. Moore, Jr., Timothy J. Moore and Charles A. Moore, all of Lorain, daughters: Janet L. Singer, Rebecca A. Sturgill, Karen L. Clarkston and Jacqueline S. Black, all of Lorain, 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Betty Leonard of Avon Lake, Alma Warner and Cora Mitcheff both of Lorain, his adopted family Daniel, Cheryl, and Racheal Lunger, all of Lorain, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alberta (nee Eitner) on December 27, 2000, son James Moore in 1962, parents Henry and Ethel (nee Heileman) Moore, brothers: Paul, William, Charles, Henry, Harold, Edward, and Howard Moore, sisters Ruthanne Moore and Louis Ann Moore.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 24, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 3929 Leavitt Road, Lorain. Cremation will follow.
