Megan Virginia McGinnis, 17, Enjoyed ballet, tap dance and animals

Megan Virginia McGinnis, 17, of Wellington, died Sunday July 20, 2003 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Lorain.

She was born July 10, 1986 in Oberlin and had resided in Wellington since 1995 moving from Lorain where she had lived most of her life.

Megan attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School in Lorain and McCormick Middle School in Wellington where she was a cheerleader and ran track. She would have been a junior at Wellington High School this year.

She worked at Ponderosa Steak House in Wellington as a cashier.

She was a past member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington. She had taken ballet and tap dance lesson and enjoyed animals.

She is survived by her father Jim McGinnis of Lorain; mother Susan Horwedel of Wellington, brother Robert McGinnis of Lorain and maternal grandfather Robert Martin of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Edward C. McGinnis and S. Eleanor McGinnis and maternal grandmother Virginia Martin.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain and Friday from 9-11 a.m. in the chapel of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. James Reymann, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
