John A. Tranosky Jr., 65, Enjoyed gourmet cooking, traveling and casino gambling
John A. Tarnosky, Jr., age 65, of Vermilion, died Wednesday July 23, 2003 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center after a sudden illness. He was born May 14, 1938 in Vincent (Lorain), Ohio and was a resident of South Amherst from 1943-1996. He then relocated to Henderson, Nevada, and Surprise, Arizona, before moving to Vermilion in January of this year.Mr. Tarnosky was a Corporal (E-4) in the U.S. Marine Corp. serving from 1956-1959.
A 1956 graduate of South Amherst High School, he received a B.A. in Political Science from Kent State University in 1969, a B.S. in Education from Kent in 1971, and an M.A. in Education from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1980. John was employed by the Berea City School as a social studies teacher at Berea High School and Roehm Middle School from 1971-1994. He continued his educational studies until retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed gourmet cooking, traveling and casino gambling.
He is survived by his sisters: Dorothy Triniszewski of Lorain and Josephine Andrews of South Amherst; 6 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: John A. and Anna B. (nee Maljuzich) Tranosky Sr.
Private family services will be held with burial following in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the Glunva-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - Lorain.
