Reverend Rolland Eppler, 92, Enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing

He was born May 20, 1911 in East Townsend, Ohio and moved to Vermilion in 1934 from Birmingham, Ohio.
He worked on the Great Lakes as an oilman on lake freighters during the 1930's and 1940's. During WW II he worked at American Ship Building, Lorain. He later worked as a driver for Norwalk Truck Line and retired from Carolina Motor Freight in 1974. He and his wife, Myrtle, also pastored Vermilion Foursquare Church for 13 years and were on staff at the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, Amherst since 1963.
He was a member of the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, Amherst, the Retiree's Club of Teamster's Union Local #571, the National Rifle Association, and a long-time member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Myrtle Eppler (nee Howell), son Ronald Irvin Eppler of Amherst, Ohio, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and his brother Donald Eppler of Alturas, California.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Loring and Georgia (nee Pinney) Eppler, 5 sisters: Doris Croll, Maxine Miller, Ruby Eppler, Helen Miller, and Alice Conner, and 2 brothers, Clifton and Leroy Eppler.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 29, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, 780 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Dr. Bill Mouer, pastor of the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, and Rev. Jim Cooper, pastor of the Harbourtown Community Church, will co-officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
